TUMBLING SESSION #9 RUNS Dec. 30th thru March 5th.
2013 TUMBLING SESSIONS AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE
Tumbling sessions run every six-weeks on a continuing basis. If a student joins after the start of a new session, that student may request make-up classes. There are no refunds, and there are no pro-ration of fees if a student starts after the first week of the session. (Go to "Forms" and "Tumbling Schedule" for information about make-up classes.)
The dates below are based on Mondays. Session payments are due on the first day of the week your student’s class takes place (before the student enters the gym). A student will not be allowed in the gym until their payment is made. TCA accepts cash, checks and credit cards. Thank you!
Session #1: Week of Feb. 11th-Feb. 16th through Week of March 18th-23rd
Session #2: Week of March 25th-30th through week of April 29th- May 4th
Session #3: Week of May 6th - 11th through Week of June 10th- June 15th (TCA will be closed Mon. May 27th for Memorial Day;make-up class Sat. June 1st. TCA, will be closed Saturday June 15th. Schedule own make-ups)
Session #4: Week of June 17th - 22nd through Week of July 22nd - 27th (TCA will be closed Thursday, July 4th for Independence Day. Make-up class on Sat. July 6th)
Session #5: Week of July 29th- August 3rd through Week of Sept. 2nd- 7th (TCA will be closed Mon. Sept. 2nd for Labor Day. Make-up class on Sat. September 7th)
Session #6: Week of Sept. 9th- 14th through Week of Oct. 14th- 19th
Session #7: Week of Oct. 21st - 26th through Week of Nov. 25th- 30th (TCA will be closed Thursday Nov. 28th for Thanksgiving. Make-up class on Sat. Nov. 30th)
Session #8: Week of Dec. 2nd- 7th through Week of Jan. 6th- 11th (TCA will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 & Wed. Dec. 25th for Christmas. Make-up class on Sat. Dec. 28th. TCA will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 31st & Jan. 1st for New Years. Make-up class on Sat. Jan. 4th.)
No prior tumbling experience is required. Tumblers will learn the proper technique and execution of cartwheels, round-offs, and the drills and beginning techniques of standing back handsprings and round-off back handsprings.
INTERMEDIATE TUMBLING SCHEDULE
Minimum skills required: cartwheel, round-off, unassisted standing back handspring and unassisted round-off back handspring. Tumblers will learn and strengthen proper technique of standing and running back handspring series. Tumblers will beging to learn the proper technique of round-off back handspring back tucks.
Minimum skills required: standing and running round-off back handspring series (three or more). Tumblers will work in progression to learn proper technique and execution of:
Standing skills: back handspring back tucks, back tucks, back handsprings to layouts and fulls, standing fulls; and
Running skills: round-off back handspring(s) to tucks, layouts and fulls; combination passes.
TUMBLING--SUMMER SPECIALTY CLASS
AVAILABLE JUNE21st 2010
The focus of this class is to learn tumbling that will be needed for each cheerleader for her up coming season. Beginning tumblers will learn proper technique and execution of cartwheels, round-offs (RO), and standing and running back handsprins (BHS). Intermediate tumblers will learn proper technique and execution of standing and running BHS series and beginning techiques of back tucks (BT). Advance tumblers will learn proper technique and execution of layouts and twists.
JUMPS CLASS and Motions --SUMMER SPECIALTY CLASS
AVAILABLE JUNE 21st 2010
In this class students will be introduced to motions and their proper placement. Cheerleaders will also learn proper execution of jumps including toe touches, front hurdlers, side hurdlers, pikes and double nines. More challenging jumps and approaches will be introduced to students who excel at the four basic jumps. An emphasis will also be placed on the timing of team jumps and landings. Students will also learn about stretching and conditioning to improve the height of their jumps.
